Egg salad food poisoning recall

Egg salad food contamination has led to a recall by Ballard’s Farm Sausage, Inc. in 17 states.  The current list of states impacted by the egg salad contamination include: Alabama, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, South Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.

The egg salad food poisoning recall was announced after Listeria moncytogenes bacterium was discovered in 12 oz containers.  The food contamination can cause serious injuries for children, elderly and pregnant women.  The infection can be potentially fatal.
