I had a hip replacement in 2008. Since then I have had nothing but pain and discomfort. The hip is a stryker and I have been told it will need to be replaced. I live in Australia so I just wonder how many other countries this involves and will it continue

I got the catalog numbers and lot codes for both of my hip replacements, and there are in parts in both hips that are recalls, I got this information from stryker. Who is liable if the doctors won't admit these things are recalls and never let me know. Do I find a new doctor, or a new attorney???? I can't sit for very long, I have trouble sleeping, and I still limp.

I had a full hip replacement on the right side. When I did I asked the Doctor if he could even out my legs as the left was too long. He said he would and end result is not the right leg is too long. It has been three years since my hip replacement and in May of this year I started getting pain back in my hip like I did before he replacement. Now I can't sit for more than 30 minutes and it hurts like hell when I get up and feels like he hip is out of socket. I went to see Doctor in April and he said exrays looked just fine. Now my pelvis is twisted causing pain in my left sacroiliac. The pain seems to get worse daily. I don't have insurance to go get another opinion. Frustrated!!!

On October 20, 2008 I had total left hip replacement. At first it wasn't bad until I returned to work. I squeeked when I walked. I complained to Surgeon and he took Xrays and said it looks fine. Everything was still place. How can i be fine sounding like that. Others can hear you. It's worst going up stairs.I have trouble sitting for more than 20 minutes, and now the past year and a half I have knock when I walk, and a squeek. The pain is getting worst and I have the limp back.

On May 27, 2010 I had total hip replacement. Pain was constant and I had difficulty walking . It never went away. On May 1st of this year, 2011, the surgery had to be redone because the hip had become severely septic. The components implanted in 2010 were the TRIDENT PSL 52-mm with 0 degree polyethylene insert, Accolade size 3, 127 degree stem, and 32-mm minus 4 ball. The surgeon said that it was not a DePuy. The same metal components were used for the second surgery. Does anyone out there know if the parts used were defective ones?

June 28,2002, I had a Stryker Trident 58 left total hip arthroplasty. It is painful to stand up and most time when walking. I returned to my orthopedic surg. only to be told it looked good to him. Shortly afterward he retired. I then went to another orthopod for the pain only to be told he wasn't familiar with this replacement, but the xray indicated it was ok. I have my surgical report from the hospital and don't know what todo or how to be pain free like my right hip replacement from 1998 with no problems.

My hip was replaced in 2007. Was a very rough surgery for me. I am a larger man and my recovery was long. I am a sanitation worker and on my feet all day. I suffer daily with hip and leg pain. Was told by my surgeon that I have signs of loosening and wear around the cup. I have been doing alot of research and found out that I do have a Trident by stryker. Amazing right? Although my surgeon told me that it wasn't part of the recall. I have called stryker directly and they are going to start an investigation into my case. Funny I requested my operative records over a month ago from the Hospital and still haven't gotten them. I wonder if someone is hiding something?

I had a total hip replacement September 28, 2009. At first everything seemed to progress normally. Now going on 2 years later I have pain upon rising from a sitting position. I walk with a limp and receive many comments. My surgeon still is reluctant to consider that the implant may be faulty. I am going to schedule a 2nd opinion visit with another orthopedic surgeon. I am told also that I have bulging discs at L4 and L5.

I have had four surgeries since my stryker left hip replacement in 2007. I had a bad staph infection and had it scraped out, a temporary put in and then another permanent one. I will always have a limp now. I have not worked since 2007 and every summer and winter except this past summer, I have been on a pick line with an IV. I am still on oral antibiotics and now have a yeast infection whick makes me too embarrassed to go swimming in a two piece bathing suit. Forget the 20= inch scar! Also xrays shoed from the first surgery and scraping, a piece of bone broke off the pelvis and the joint slips at times now.
