To find out any information about your surgery.. check with medical records at the hospital where you had the surgery (s) to get the serial numbers or any other information. Stryker nor the doctor will give it to you. They are afraid of a suit..
The Doctor's will tell you everyhting looks fine.. because they can't tell by taking an x ray. If things don't get better.. plz get a second opinion.. of course they are going to tell you that they will need to do a revision surgery to see what's going on.. and there is no gaurentee.
it's like dam if you do.. and dam if you don't. I wish I wouldn't have.

Good luck!

I had my left hip replaced 4-23-08 and it was made by Stryker. I have been in horrible pain since the surgery. I can not walk very far because of the pain, also difficult to get in my pickup. It feels like my hip is tearing inside. I need a cane full time to get around now. I have been back to the Dr. that put it in and they say the xray looks fine. I have been using a cane ever since and sick of the pain meds just to get though the day. Thanks Stryker for your wonderful implant, so much for the job I can't go back and do any more. The best part is that I requested my medical records with the serial numbers of the implant, and they will not suppy that. So I wonder what they are hiding.

I was wondering if anyone else having pain w/stryker ceramic ball was told to have surgery because it was their muscle/tendon & the doctor would have to cut the tendon, "but as long as I am in there I'll replace the ball also". He seemed to imply that if I just had the ball replaced I would not get any relief. He was a second opinion Dr. & now I am very confused bercause the first Dr. said stripe wear on the ceramic ball causes problems & I would need revision of ball. No mention of cutting the tendon. I'm sick of pain pills.

I had a total hip replacement in 2007. When I stretch my leg my hip pops and when i attempt to touch my toes my hip also pops. My Doctor said it was ligaments.I am not sure which manufacturer my artificial hip is from att.

I have had both hips replaced. The right hip was replaced 3-21-2008 and the left hip was replaced 11-21-08. My right hit started making popping noises in June 2009. Of course I went back too my surgeon, he took xrays and said it looked ok. It was just legements popping over the hip joint. Now when I walk I squeak. I sound like a rusty old door. The sad thing is that I was off work for over 5 months last year and although I had insurance I still had to pay my deductable. The savings we did have are about gone and the possibiliyty of having another surgery will devaste my family. Has anyone else been faced with these problems?303

My mother had hip replacement surgery 7-18-08, and now has developed a very bad infection. I'm wondering if there is some connection?

I had a hip replacement on 07/11/08 and it almost took my life.
I ended up with a terrible infection, unbelieveable pain, fevers, very low blood pressure and clicking noises. I ended up in a fetal position and wasn't able to walk anymore. The Doctor that I had was the worse Doctor ithat I have ever seen in my life. I went to another Doctor for a second opinion and had to end up having a second surgery. I am better than I was, but I still have a hard time walking, I still experience pain and my life will never be the same again. Please do your reasearch before having it done.

My boyfriend is 37, and had a hip replaced in November 2004 due to a car accident. He didn't have insurance, and still doesn't, so he has never gone back to a doctor to have it checked out. just this past april/may 09, it's started to be extrememly painful for him. and now in the last two weeks, it's like a stabbing pain, he can't sleep, and when he walks it CLICKS very loudly. :( . Could this be a defective product? is this normal wear and tear?

I recieved total right hip replacement with a stryker hip in Oct. of 2004. Since then Ive had a squeeking noise when I get up and down from sitting and is still painfull. I went to my surgeon and he informed me he has had several complaints about the same problem , but I havent heard anything else about it. I'm very concerned and worried. The 1st surgery was very traumatising to me and I will not have another surgery.
