I got a script for chantix today from doctor and decided to research the drug before filling the script.I had asked my doctor about wellbutrin and how it would effect my moods because i am afraid to take something that will make me feel depressed i have to small children and just simply want to quit smoking. She told me chantix would be right for me that it would not have any effect on my mood.I am so glad i read this first as I WILL NOT BE FILLING MY CHANTIX SCRIPT.I also hope this will save one more person as it did save me. I took Chantix for a few weeks and DID quit smoking. However, I had very bad and just plain wierd dreams,woke several times to what seemed like something, like a cat, walking across my bed( could actually feel the pressure on the covers) which I wonder if these could be thought of as hallucinations? and experienced alot of anxiety about dying in the near future or losing everything I owned. A good friend suggested I call my Doctor for an anxiety medication. I am normally a very laid back person and realized this all began shortly after starting Chantix and decided to stop taking it twice a day. My sympton's have improved however I do not yet feel right. By the way, I started smoking again while on the 1/2 dosage so had planned to go back to twice a day next week. After seeing this warning, I will stop taking it completely. Very scary. Please continue to warn people. If it affects a very healthy person like me I would hate to think how it could affect someone who already had anxiety issues.
