I am not an emotional person but this drug evokes very strange emotions and thoughts. BEWARE!!! I took Chantix in 07 for 2 months. I never had any side affects while I was taking the medication but I did start the side effects when I went off Chantix, I now am very clausterphobic and have terrible nightmares which consist of talking in my sleep, fighting, punching, hitting, and arm and leg jerking. Im not sure if this is due to taking the chantex but I never had any of this before taking it. I have to have PET scans done a few times a year which I have to be given medication to relax me before I have a PET scan due to the Clausterphobia. I cannot have my face covered, be in tight spaces or be confined. I am suppose to have a test done to see if I have sleep apnea or am having seizures in my sleep but I can not have it done because they have to put monitor belts around my chest, wires on my head, straps on my arms and legs. I have talked to my doctor about the Clausterphobia and the fighting in my sleep but he says he has never heard of anyone having this problem due to taking Chantix.
