The implant is like a mortar and pestle being held in place by a big rubber band (the thigh and butt muscles like iliopsoas, gluteus and adductors). If the "rubber band" is loose the pestle can slip out of the mortar. Dislocations can cause damage to an implant, but the implant did not cause the dislocation.
