I started taking dojoxin in August 2007 because of A FIB. The very first dose almost laid me out and I have a strong constitution. Took it for a total of five months to mid-January due to holiday time out at the hospital
Very weak the whole time. At month 4 I developed severe bursitis in both hips and eventually put on prednisone. Red blotches on arms and legs, my lumbar vertabrae slumped and I had some backaches. In April of 2011 I had a compression fracture of that area. I need help to get out of a chair, cannot walk more then 100 feet and my balance is off.

My father died in November of 2008. He was on Digitek for three plus years. His health declined after beginning this medication. He was finally diagnoised with digitalis toxicity. He had renal failure and was in and out of the hospital numerous times. He experienced all the symptions and my mother had to watch him slowly die before her eyes and become a weak man who could not even hold himself up in the bed. He died a slow death and in the end he struggled and had a cardiac arrest and complete organ failure. We feel that the drug company is direcltly responsible for his death and that we should be compsentated heavily. My father filed a lawsuit shortly before he died and we are contuining it. If anyone has been through this, do not hesitate to file lawsuits. It is our right.

My father suffered very severe complications because of this drug. He went into cardiac arrest twice and has to be brought back to life twice in Sept and Oct of 2007. After the October incident, they figured out and diagnosed him with digoxin toxicity. He also went into kidney failure twice and the doctor asked my mother twice if she would pull the plug. He was unconcous for almost a week. He is still struggling with his health today. He actually retired a few years back because he was too weak to work which the doctor now believes was related to digitek. He was NOT informed by the pharmacy that this medication was recalled. I believe that somebody needs to be held accountable for what happened to my father and I will not rest until justice is served.

My mother took digoxin for years but was switched by the mail order pharmacy to Digitek because it was cheaper. Shortly after taking Digitek, she began going downhill. (shortly before taking Digitek she had a normal EKG while on digoxin).
I called her cardiologist and demanded they do something about her meds (I didn't now about the Digitek recall then and found about it by accident on the internet - nobody ever told us about the recall). The cardiologist immediately took her off Digitek (and digoxin). Within a year, she had to have heart ablation. A few weeks after that on 9/4/2008 she had a massive stroke. She died on 9/11/2008. I knew and it didn't help! I pray for all of you who lost loved ones like I did. It is devastating!!

Digitek was one of the first meds prescribed for my Mother over 10yrs ago, she as like marys daughter had never been told she was toxic until Jan 08. ( Was there a reason the Dr. knew we didn't to test her?) Now after the fact It all makes perfect sense, Mom had been going down since early fall of 07 and passed on Easter. All the signs were there if my brother and I had only knew..We were asked to let her go without the proper knowledge...And may I add she never knew the truth she thought she was getting better and continued fighting..My brother and I had different opinions regarding making the desision to let her go.. I personally will never forgive the individuals involved in making us make such a terrible choice, I pray no one else has to go through such pain over negligence of others..

My mother died June 7, 2008 after having been on Digitek since January. Neither her cardiologist nor the pharmacy where she had gotten her prescriptions filled for 30 years bothered to call her regarding the recall. She had all the symptoms associated with Digitek prior her death.
I believe not only the pharmacuticalbut also her cardiologist and pharmacist should be held responsible! Mom did not have to die!!
