A petition has been filed with the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation to transfer all pending federal shoulder pain pump lawsuits to one court for consolidation during the pre-trial proceedings. If granted, this will result in all federal cases being assigned to one judge to manage the discovery and pre-trial motions. While many people often confuse such consolidations with a class action lawsuit, each of the cases would still remain a stand alone lawsuit.

The special federal procedure, known as a multi-district litigation or MDL, is common in complex product liability cases where multiple lawsuits have been filed by involving one or more common questions of fact. In many ways, an MDL is handled similar to how a shoulder pain pump class action suit would be handled, with coordinated and pooled discovery However, each of the cases remain individual lawsuits and if they do not settle or otherwise resolve during pre-trial proceedings, the cases will be remanded back to the original courts for trial.

Shoulder pain pump lawsuits have been filed throughout the United States on behalf of individuals who have developed a condition known as post-arthroscopic glenohumeral chondrolysis or PAGCL. The use of intra-articular pain pumps to deliver medication to the shoulder after a shoulder arthroscopy has been linked to the painful and debilitating condition where the cartilage in the shoulder joint progessively deteriorates.

Symptoms of post-arthroscopic glenohumeral chondrolysis often begin to appear months after the surgery, as the shoulder begins to be used more. The loss of shoulder cartilage could result in pain, popping, clicking, grinding, loss of range of motion or loss of strength. The cartilage destruction is permanent, and in many cases a shoulder replacement surgery is necessary

The shoulder pump lawyers at Saiontz & Kirk, P.A. have been investigating potential lawsuits involving the development of PAGCL since August 2007 and new cases are still being evaluated. If you, a friend or family member have experienced severe shoulder problems or cartilage loss following arthroscopic shoulder surgery, request a free consultation and claim evaluation.

I had surgery for impingement and a torn rotator cuff in December of 06. In August of 07 I began having problems like constant pain, clicking and grinding. My doctor said that it was normal and gave me a cortizone injection. That worked for awhile but over the last 6 months the pain has returned and the cracking and grinding is worse then ever.

I have had both shoulders reparied. The left shoulder froze-up and had to be broken loose. The right shoulder also froze-up and I choose not to have it broken loose. I have had several corodozone shots and prednozone pills. I still have pain, grinding, popping and limited motion.I feel the Pain pump was the problem

I just heard of this the other day my husband has had 2 shoulder surgeries because he hurt it on the job. Is on workmans compensation and after having these surgeries was given each time the pump how come the doctors are not aware of this? My husband was not given any option of using the pump or taking oral pain pills after surgery. His arm is worse now then it was before the first surgery.

Information about these pumps should be shared by the doctor with the patient. The patient should be given the option of having the pain pump or not. Im my case it seems like they are using the pain pump to get me back on the job as soon as possible without much thought or caring about my best interest and long term health

I had shoulder surgery for a subacromial decompression. I had a pain pum and 3 months after that my rotator cuff tore and my bicepts tendon detatched from the bone.I have had 2 more surgeries and I am in a lot of pain. I have a lawyer for this pain pump but they are not telling me anything. Has anyone ever got a settlement of any kind?I have been diagnosed with Osteoarthritis due to all the trauma of the 3 surgeries and the pain pump.

After several surgeries with pain pumps being inserted after them I have continued to have issues. A total shoulder replacement has been performed. I believe the pumps have caused all the problems.
