I am in daily excrutiating pain from oral cancer; fifteen surgeries and I have declined the last...way too brutal; so I have a year to live, they say.
None of my pain relievers work. I have 5x100mcg patches every three days, with liquid morphine backup. Nothing. I have torn the patches and smeared all five on at once. Nothing. I have guzzled three full bottles of morphine . Nothing. I am not a junkie; these are one time events after weeks of frustration at no relief. Once they prescribed oxycodone. Nothing. In frustration I dissolved 100x5mgs in water and drank. Nothing.
I can't believe that I am getting placebos. But am I? And why? My record of disfiguring operations is clear as a bell; jaw, facial muscle, lots gone. Pectoral stuck up in my mouth. Upper palette open. Inside a mass od raw flesh. Why would I get placebos? On the other hand, why must I suffer? Just two years ago five oxycodones, 5mg. would hit me like a ton of bricks. I haven't elevated my use at all. Like I said, I rarely get these med continually in that we keep switching to find relief. But no side effects: no relief, no euphoria, no drowsiness.
