Sandostatin LAR was given to me in 2003 for carcinoid cancer. I was told by MANY physicians and patients there were no side effects.
Well, I am still trying to recover from the severe side effects. I am in pain night and day. My symptons began the 3rd day into taking the drug. Prior to the drug I was physically fit and fine. I did not know I had cancer it was found by coincidence. The sympton is severe pain through out my body like arthritius. The last injection I received was administered into my vein. My wrist swelled up within 2 hours and the swelling never left. It eventually destroyed the ligements in my wrists. My doctor thought I might have RA but in order to qualify for that you must show 3 different areas of inflamation. I don't have that. I am in pain daily. Did anyone else have this type of side effect. Need less to say I stopped taking this drug. My cancer is fine and does not effect my life. The Sandostatin LAR has made me a cripple!
