The product liability attorneys at Saiontz & Kirk, P.A. are now reviewing potential NuvaRing birth control lawsuits for users of the contraceptive ring. Many otherwise healthy young women have suffered severe blot clot injuries, such as heart attacks, strokes, pulmonary embolysm and deep vein thrombosis, as a result of NuvaRing side effects.

Please note that the lawyers at Saiontz & Kirk, P.A. are no longer taking on new cases involving NuvaRing. The content on this page is provided for informational purposes only.

NuvaRing is a once-a-month form of birth control which was approved in 2001, and has been used by over one million young women.

Oragonon, the manufacturer of NuvaRing, has provided promotional materials which claim that the birth control ring releases “low” doses of hormones, and that the risks are similar to oral birth control bills. However, NuvaRing side effects could increase the risk of potentially fatal blood clots. The manufacturer has failed to properly warn about the Nuva Ring dangers and the potential health problems it could cause.

Potential birth control ring lawsuits are being reviewed for NuvaRing users who suffered any of the following injuries:

  • Blood Clots
  • Deep Vein Thrombosis
  • Pulmonary Embolysm
  • Heart Attack
  • Stroke
  • Death

NUVARING ATTORNEYS

The injuries being claimed in NuvaRing birth control lawsuits are similar to the claims associated with the birth control patch, Ortho Evra. The lawyers at Saiontz & Kirk, P.A. have been representing women pursuing Ortho Evra lawsuits for over three years, and are now reviewing potential Nuva Ring lawsuit cases.

Free consultations were previously provided for users of the NuvaRing contraceptive, or family members, who are concerned that a blood clot injury could be caused by the birth control ring.

NuvaRing cases are no longer being accepted.

I was previously on the Nuva Ring and the Patch. I had requested to be taken off because it made me feel menopausal, anxious, and uncomfortable in my chest. Dr indicated anxiety and prescribed me Wellbutrin but I did not take the medicine because I felt it was from the birth control.

My concerns have been with my 16 daughter she ha sbeen on NUva Ring for almost 2 years but complains constanly of having breathing problems and severe leg cramps. She is very active and at one time I took her off Nuva Ring for 3 months again she complains of breathing problems and legs cramps. My question should I have the form of birth control no longer used it worries me that she has these problems at such a young age coulkd they be connected??. It worries me taht a young age she would suffer major problems with its use.

I was put on the nuvaring and after a few months i had alot of problems breathing off and on, then after the third straight day of not being able to do anything without having such chest pain I went to the ER. They ran some blood tests and came back normal and the Dr. didn’t think I had a blood clot but ordered a chest x-ray just to make sure and that’s when they found the blood clot on my lung. I was immeadiately ommitted into the hospital, stayed over night and almost had to stay another night because I was still having breathing problems. I then had to have two shots a day in the stomach for almost two weeks then put on blood thinner pills for six months. It’s a very scary thing, especially when you have kids to take care of.

I was put on Nuva Ring back in 2005 after my second son was born because I could not take the pills. At first everything was fine and then about six or seven months later I started having difficulty breathing and would have to use my aunts nebulizer in order to breath. I stopped using the ring and all went back to normal. My doctor once again put me back on the ring after my youngest son was born in March of 2008 and I started having breathing problems once more. I stopped using it after two weeks of not being able to breath and have not had any problems since then. I have had several trips to the emergency room because of it but was told that there was nothing going on with my chest. This scares me because I am 25 years old and have four young children. What would happen to them and my husband if something bad happened to me?

I have a simular situation. I was put on nuva ring by a annex teen clinic. I did smoke, but the risk factor was over the age 35years of age so i didn’t think it would affect me at all. I also have a low factor 7 which, my blood don’t clot easily. (confusing huh) i will tell you the story. I started having really bad chest pains at work, they told me to the er. I was in the er and they said i had a blood clot in my lung i was 22 years old. They couldnt find were it started though. I was on lovenox for almost 1 year cause i couln’t take couminden cause of my blood disorder. Its scary thing, now i watch and make sure i go in if i expierence anything else. It just sucks now cause i can notice all the problems with my life now verses before i would ignore them

I googled nuvaring leg cramps because I’ve been on this BC for one month now and since I’ve been on it, I’ve been experiencing the worst leg cramps. They’re so bad that at night I will wake up to the pain of them. After reading some of the side effects and other’s experiences with it, I am going back to the pill!

I was on NuvaRing for 6 months. I started having severe headaches a few weeks after I began using NuvaRing. I went to my family med doctor for a while. I was put on migrain medication. Nothing was helping the pain.I was referred to a Neurologist. I had MRI, EEG, full blood panels. Everything came back normal. I had been to a chiropractor, dentist, and my eye doctor. Everything was normal. I then got pregnant while on Nuva RIng. I had no clue that it was Nuva Ring causing the headaches. Now I am almost 8 weeks pregnant, no headaches. This product needs to be removed from the market. It is a very dangerous product.

I’ve been on the Nuva Ring for almost 5 years now. I’ve experienced head aches, leg cramps (that would wake me out of a dead sleep), and anxiety, just like every other person in the world. Not a single one of them has been persistant or overly bothersome. I go to my doctor every 3 months for follow ups and nothing has transpired into anything bad. I love Nuva Ring, and i think that some people are overly sensitive or just jump to conclusions too easily. Does anyone have medical proof to any of their stories?

I was on Yaz and the Nuvaring for quite sometime. The Nuvaring was the lastest form of birth control that I was on and since being on the Nuvaring and Yaz I’ve had serveral problems with my heart speading up and was recently diagnosed with PSVT which is a form of Tachycardia. I now have to take heart medication for the rest of my life just so my heart won’t beat too fast and cause me to have a heart attack.

I am 27 I was put on nuvaring after having my second baby because my dr thought I would forget to take a pill and it would be easier for me. After starting nuvaring in June 2011 ( and I am a very healthy person) august 4,2011 I went to work with my chest hurting so bad I almost cried, I went home and could not make myself get off the couch until… The pain was unbearable I told my husband I had to go to the er , when I got there I was having issues breathing and the pain under my rib was killing me ! After ruling out all the options my dr did a cat scan and found the blood clot in my left lung, fluid on my lungs and because of the clot they also found that I have a heart murmur. And did I mention I do not smoke drink or take any other medications . The dr said that this was defiantly caused by the birth control nuvaring . Now I am dealing with post traumatic stress disorder and having to see a counselor . I can not sleep at night now and I have 2 kids 2 and 4 that demands my attention . This has completely change my life and way of thinking . And now i have to take blood thinner for 6-12 months and have weekly blood draws .Please take this a a warning and stop using the nuvaring !

I was on the pill for 2yeas n it never helped me out, just gave me acne, and i fell into deisrsepon, so far i havent heard any complaints about the depo shot, i personally have used the pill, the implanon which failed for me, now i use the patch and it is amazing so far, on it for three weeks and off for one so that u have a normal period, it even lessens the day. Ive heard that the depo shot and the patch are ment for skinny ppl, i dont know if thats true or not but my freinds who have the shot are all tiny so far they avent even had a period or even gotten pregnant for that matter. I just dont like the idea of having to get stuck in the butt every couple weeks.

16? This is part of what’s wrong with our culture, american culture that is. You should not be worrying about birth control. This is why HIV AIDS is still on the rise. Nuvaring don’t protect you from diseases. And the mother that was on here seemed to be proud to say her daughter is 16. So when your daughter catches an STD, she can thank you for being such a “cool” parent. Stop being her friend. Youre her mother

the whole time I was on nuvaring I experienced random health problems, some that subsided on their own eventually I was diagnosed with crohns when after they started getting more serious. I believe its related, a rare side effect is inflammation in large intestines which I believe lead up to it. no family history of IBD in either side of my family. now im suffering on a daily basis. also has severe side effects on my mental well being, for a year my family suffered for this too. im still struggling to get back to normal.

I have been on NuvaRing for 5 year’s. Im currently disabled due all these conditions associated with this bad drug. I could never figure it out and now it makes sense. I’ve been to the ER countless times the past 5 years, spent Thousands of Dollars on going to the Doctor’s and Specialist and neuro. All I know is what I’ve told the Doctor’s is it all started after I had my miscarriage. Which now makes since I was place on the nuva ring. Years Ive been unable to walk, use to be just at night or later in the day I was confined to a wheelchair to due the pain was so bad I couldn’t bear weight let alone walk. Over the years the leg pain would get worse and worse. Along with the migraines. Im still in pain and took the ring out a month ago. Was just told about this today. Whats ever worse im partially paralyzed in both legs and cant lift them laying face down nor on my back. I have to physically pick my legs up to cross them and put on my shoes. Its horrible, the pain I’ve been suffering for years with mi nimal releif. All of these are symptoms Ive been suffering. Which doctor’s are still testing for year’s. I use to run everyday and was very active until around this time of starting this drug.
    *Daily leg pain
    *Daily Migraines
    *Daily Muscle soreness and weakness
    * Daily Tingling in legs and arms
    *Weekly Shortness of Breath
*Monthly Chest pains, like heart attack pain.
    *Eye Problems
*Permanente Partial Paralyzes in both legs
    *Daily Sever Stomach pain
    *High Treg of blood test
    *High Sugar in blood work
*Nausea and Vomiting on and off for no reason without fever or no other explanation.
*DISSABILTY, a life sentence of pain and suffering.

I honestly believe this drug is responsible for my dissability, if id known this drug was causing my leg pains to start with… I would’ve taken the nuvaring out and probably would have prevented this nightmare. I’d give anything to have my life back. Wish I would’ve known. This Drug has RUINED my life and my kids and family.

I’ve been on nuva ring for 5 months, and just requested to be taken off it. My legs have never cramped like this in my life, and I’ve never had such heavy clotting with my periods. When I was at the gyn today they looked like i was crazy when I said these things didnt start until I started the nuva ring. I just hope the leg pain goes away after being off this stupid drug that was supposed to make my life easier not worse is out of my system.
