The product liability lawyers at Saiontz & Kirk, P.A. are reviewing potential lawsuits on behalf of any individuals who have suffered a serious injury requiring medical treatment after taking generic Dextroamphetamine Sufate 5mg tablets. An Ethex Dextroamphetamine recall was issued yesterday after it was discovered that some tablets from three different lots could be oversized, increasing the risk of an overdose or side effects.

>>FDA RECALL NOTICE: Ethex Dextroamphetamine Sulfate 5mg Tablets

Dextroamphetamine is a generic version of brand name drugs Dexedrine and Dextrostat. It is prescribed to treat narcolepsy and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Ethex Recall

The Ethex recall applies to Dextroamphetamine Sulfate 5mg tablets which were distributed between January 2007 and May 2008. The manufacturer discovered that some tablets were thicker than they were supposed to be, potentially containing up to double the appropriate amount of the drug. This could cause a number of serious side effects, including:

  • Hypertension
  • Tachycardia
  • Tremors

Other potential side effects of the double strength Dextroamphetamine could include blurred vision, dizziness, upset stomach, insomnia, headaches, decreased appetite and dry mouth.

The recalled tablets were from lots 77946, 81141 and 81142. At this time, the recall only applies to 5mg tablets, which are round and orange in color, with “ETHEX” and “311” on one side.

In June 2008, Ethex Corporation had a similar manufacturing problem which resulted in a Morphine recall due to double strength tablets. Our lawyers are currently investigating several cases for individuals who suffered a morphine overdose as a result of these oversized tablets manufactured by Ethex.

ETHEX DEXTROAMPHETAMINE LAWYERS

For individuals who have experienced a side effect of Dextroamphetamine Sulfate, they should seek immediate medical attention. Any unused Dextroamphetamine tablets should be preserved in a manner which will prevent further use, but allow later testing if a legal claim is pursued.

If you, a friend or family member have suffered severe injuries requiring medical treatment after taking Ehtex Dextroamphetamine since January 2007, request a free consultation and claim evaluation.
