I would strongly recommend not using this pill. I was on YAZ for 4 months and started having gallbladder problems. It got very severe and I ended up having to have it removed. I have never had any type of gallbladder problem prior to this. I’m 22 years in a great shape and health. It’s not typical to have this issue. My doctor stated it was possible the pill caused the issue. I’m in the process of filing a suit. I think it’s unfair for the company to leave out possible effects of the pills they make. They should give out all the information so women can make a very informed decision about which birth control to take. It’s a very important decision seeings how it effects your hormone levels and not to mention your reproductive organs/cycles.

They are much safer pills to be on. My advice from my experience is to do a lot of research before you pick a birth control.

As a mother I think this pill is pure poison. As an RN I think this pill is just another example of how pharmaceutical companies release and excessively promote bad medicine. My poor beautiful 16 y/o daughter was put on this pill to regulate her periods and she became severely depressed and almost unable to function cognitively. Subsequently her grades which had been A’s and B’s dropped to C’s and D’s because she couldn’t focus or concentrate due to the depression. Thank God, it occured to me the other day that all of her emotional symptoms may be due to this “medication”. I contacted a different dr. in the group and he agreed that Yaz is most likely the problem. She will be off of all hormones for 2 weeks and then we will re-evaluate. Do all of you know that this is a huge dose of a synthetic hormone–in other words–CHEAP to manufacture. I feel very guilty that I bought and gave this crap to my daughter. She is feeling better just knowing that it is not her fault!!!!

is there any one that smokes on yaz? im 22 yrs old and my dr got me on yaz today i told him how i seen the commercials for all the strokes and heart attacks he says its completely safe im still really scared so im wanting to know if theres anyone else out there that drinks and smokes on yaz??

I have been belching excessively since September 2008 and everytime I have gone to a doctor I have been told I had GERD and given a new prescription. None of the prescriptions work and now I have been having a hard time breathing, a tightness feeling in my chest, I feel full even when I haven’t eaten and even water makes me belch. I went to an internal medicine doctor last week and he mentioned he thought it was my gallbladder. I go today to find out the results of the ultrasound they did.

Now, I am reading about YAZ and finding out that my symptoms are all listed in the lawsuit against YAZ. Plus, when I do the math the timing is right. I started YAZ in April 2008 and my symtoms have increased slowly ever since. I’m going to mention it to my doctor today to see if it may be related. I stopped taking the YAZ two days ago and am feeling better, though it is still hard to breathe. Hopefully this means that I can stop the YAZ and the symptoms will stop.

I have been taking Yaz for about 5 years. I have severe PMDD. Yaz has helped me tremendously. One time I had to miss a month because my prescription was lost in the mail and I felt absolutely horrible. Severe cramps, chest tenderness, moods. Once I got back on the Yaz it took a couple of months but I felt so much better. I have loved this prescription but now I am worried. I will definitely be talking to my doctor. I took Yaz for about a month and had severe panic attacks where I thought I was going to die. I’d never had panic attachs before in my life. So I immediately went off of of it. Then my doctor put me on Ocella and was ok for a few months. I didn’t realize they were essentially the same pill.
The attacks started to happen after a few months on Ocella. I have PCOS, but I think there are a few different types of PCOS. I have the kind without a lot of weight gain, but I have cysts, heavy bleeding and hirsuitism.

I have been on Yaz for a little over 3 months. I started it to regulate the frequency of my period. I haven’t been on it for long and I hear that it takes about 3 months for your body to really get used to it, so I did have a two week long period at the end of the 2nd pack but my last one was lighter and shorter and less painful. It really depends on your body so if after 3 months you are having recurring problems it is probably best to talk to your doctor and figure out an alternative. Good luck ladies!

I started taking this pill back in 2006 after being diagnosed with PCOS. It was wonderful, I absolutely loved it. I went off this pill in December of 2007 and became pregnant by March of 2008, so problems with pregnancy were not an issue. I hope this helps some women worried about infertility after using Yasmin.

I have been taking Yasmin for about 10 months now. In the past few months I have noticed that I’m not really feeling like myself. I’ve been very moody, easily irritated by things that normally wouldn’t bother me, and I have very little patience. I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night with extreme anxiety and can’t figure out why, as I have nothing to feel axious about. I’ve also noticed that for a little over a week before I’m supposed to start my period, I am extremely emotional and cry over everything and sometimes nothing at all. I have been very tired all the time and can’t seem to find the energy to do anything most days. I have also had problems with feeling light headed almost to point of passing out on a regular basis. I am supposed to start a new pack in a few days but decided just yesterday that I’m going to stop taking them for a while to see if my symptoms improve. Just for the hell of it, I decided to google yasmin side effects to see if that could really be the cause of my problems, and so far the amount of negative info and comments I’ve found has been overwhelming! I will definitely be talking to my doctor about this and hopefully will be prescribed a new bcp.

I took yaz for a year and a half i had no problems and i have been off of it for about 3 months. but im trying to have a baby i just really hope taking yaz didnt mess anything up with me or i will be contacting a lawyer..

I have been taking yazmin for 7 years and have had NO problems. I’m going to get off of it soon so my husband and I can start trying for a baby and after reading some of the responses I hope that this won’t be a problem b/c of this pill. Wish me luck!

About 2 years ago I was on Yasimin for approximately 18 months. From the second month on I had severe symptoms. I had brown discharge that would last 2 weeks at a time, I had cramps and stomach pain that was excrutiating. I had the most severe headaches of my life. They started off about 2-3 times a week and by the time I stopped taking Yasmin I would have these headaches 5-6 days a week. I could not see, I could not think, I could barely function. I would call my doctor 2-3 times a month and would be told that my body just had to adjust to the BC. I am a mother of 3 and felt that I was literally going to die. My husband also noticed the most god-awful mood swings and bizarre anger outbursts in me. Since being off Yasmin I have pretty much returned to my old self with the exception of numbness and burning in both my arms on a daily basis, especially at night in bed, and now the most horrible periods of my life. Physically, I know that things are messed up, but until recently I did not realize that these symptoms could be related to the use of Yasmin. Needless to say, I no longer am a patient of my previous gynecologist.

i had no idea there was so much problems associated with this drug. i was put on yasmin in 2007. never had any problems. it regulated my period, cleared my acne and i had less pms symtoms and even lost weight. over time i started to gain weight, lose my sex drive and have mood swings ..i decided without consulting my gyn to stop about two months ago..im feeling alot better and everything was good till now i think my period is messed up..really scared after all ive read so far..

WoW…..I have no idea now what to do! I have PCOS and I was given Yaz. I have heard so much bad about this and I now am scared to take it!. I am also on mood stabilizers and worry about the interactions not to mention I am also on anti seizure meds too. Have heart disease on both sides of the family………..uh I dont think this pill is right for me. My GYN doc said the reason for the bad “name” is due to the fact they were misleading, like a false hope of “fixing” certain problems. Forget that the warnings scare me enough not to take it, anyone else here have PCOS? I am lost on what I should do!!!
