Dole salad recall due to E. Coli contamination

A nationwide Dole salad recall was issued today after bags of Dole’s Hearts Delight salad mix was found to be contaminated with E. Coli bacteria, which could result in severe illness.  The food poisoning lawyers at Saiontz, Kirk & Miles, P.A. are reviewing potential Dole salad lawsuits for individuals who required medical treatment for food poisoning after eating the recalled lettuce.

Green bean recall due to botulism risk

A nationwide green bean recall has been issued due to a botulism risk, which could cause serious and potentially fatal injuries.  The recall comes less than two weeks after tens of millions of cans of chili, hot dog sauce, beef stew and other meat products were recalled following several reported cases of botulism.  Although the two recalls are from two different companies, both appear to have been caused by manufacturing failures during the processing of the canned foods.

Botulism poisoning strikes New Mexico man

The nationwide recall  of canned chili and other meat products appears to have caused another potentially fatal case of botulism.  A New Mexico man remains hospitalized in serious condition due to botulism poisoning as health officials attempt to confirm if he ate any of the canned foods which were recalled by Castleberry Foods, Co.

Botulism poisoning risk continues following canned foods recall

Following the recall of tens of millions of cans of chili, hot dog sauce, beef stew, hash and other foods, some stores continue to carry the canned foods on their shelves.  The recall was initiated due to a risk of botulism poisoning and federal health officials have expressed serious concern that store owners and consumers continue to not realize the danger associated with these recalled canned foods. Botulism risk leads to expanded canned food recall

The canned food recall issued last week for products containing hot dog chili sauce has been expanded to include more than 80 different types of canned chili, beef stew, corned beef hash and other meat products.  The cans may be contaminated with the botulinum toxin, a bacteria which causes botulism.

Botulism Canned Food Recall List

Hot dog chili sauce recall due to botulism outbreak

Canned food products containing hot dog chili sauce have been linked to the development of botulism, a rare but serious disease caused by contamination with Clostridium botulinum bacterium.  Following an initial announcement on July 18, a nationwide hot dog chili sauce recall was expanded on July 21 to include all products manufactured by Castleberry Food Company at their Augusta, Georgia plant, including some dog foods.

Veggie Booty lawsuit filed as source of salmonella found

The recent recalls of Veggie Booty and Super Veggie Tings have been linked to the seasoning used on both snack foods.  The manufacturer, Roberts American Gourmet, Inc., confirmed this week that the spray-on seasoning, which is made with imported Chinese ingredients, was contaminated with the salmonella bacteria which has sickened children and adults in at least 17 states.  Veggie Booty lawsuits are being pursued by consumers of the snack foods who suffered serious food poisoning injury and feel that they were let down by the company.

Snack food recall expanded to Super Veggie Tings

Following the Veggie Booty snack recall on June 28, 2007, the manufacturer announced yesterday that they are also recalling Super Veggie Tings Crunchy Corn Sticks Snack Food.  The crunchy corn sticks use the same seasoning as Veggie Bootie, leading to fears that the snack food may also be contaminated with salmonella, which has sickened people throughout the United States.

Veggie Booty recall due to salmonella food poisoning

The FDA announced a nationwide Veggie Booty recall as a result of salmonella food poisoning reported in at least 17 states.  The green-colored snack food marketed by Robert’s American Gourmet has been associated with at least 52 cases of illness, most of them occurring in young children.
