Following a March 2008 Total Body Formula recall, hundreds of people have suffered serious and life threatening reactions to the liquid dietary supplement. Over 200 people have been sickened by excessive amounts of selenium and chromium which were placed in the supplement, and many of those people have still not taken steps to protect their right to compensation through a Total Body Formula lawsuit.

The product liability lawyers at Saiontz & Kirk, P.A. are reviewing potential claims for individuals who suffered an adverse reaction requiring medical treatment after using an 8 ounce bottle of “Total Body Formula” in Peach Nectar or Tropical Orange flavor, or a 32 ounce bottle of “Total Body Mega Formula” in Tangerine/Orange flavors. The FDA has confirmed that these dietary supplements could have levels of selenium which are more than 200 times the appropriate value, and levels of chromium that are up to 17 times the appropriate value.

This could cause users who ingest the dietary supplement daily to experience problems which could start within 5 to 10 days. The hazardous levels of selenium and chromium could cause:

  • Fatigue
  • Muscle Cramps
  • Hyperactivity
  • Hypoglycemia
  • Kidney Failure
  • Liver Toxicity
  • Hair Loss
  • Finger Nail Deformities

TOTAL BODY FORMULA LAWYERS

A petition has been filed with the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation to consolidate all Total Body Formula lawsuits filed in the federal court in the Northern District of Alabama. However, as of August 15, 2008, when the Notice of Hearing Session was posted on the JPML website, only 15 people have filed a Total Body Formula lawsuit in the federal court system.

The Total Body Formula lawyers at Saiontz & Kirk, P.A. are investigating potential lawsuits for individuals who took the recalled dietary supplement and suffered a reaction requiring medical treatment. To review a potential case, request a free consultation and claim evaluation.
