The Reglan lawyers at Saiontz & Kirk, P.A. are actively investigating potential lawsuits for users of Reglan and other generic drugs that contain metoclopramide, who have developed a movement disorder known as Tardive Dyskinesia. Lawsuits are being evaluated throughout the United States and there are no fees or expenses unless a recovery is obtained.

Side effects of Metoclopramide drugs like Reglan can cause Tardive Dyskinesia, especially when they are used for long periods of time or at high doses.

Although Reglan was only determined to be safe and effective for short-term treatment of 4 to 12 weeks, many people receive the medication for subtantially longer periods of time. The conditions it is used to treat are chronic problems which often require long-term treatment.

The manufacturers of Reglan and generic metoclopramide drugs have failed to adequately study the product they were selling and failed to warn about the substantial risks associated with long-term use, even though they were aware that a large portion of sales involved prescriptions of more than 12 weeks.

The pharmaceutical companies placed profits before patient safety and prevented users from making an informed decision about whether they were willing to accept the risk of Reglan side effects.

On February 26, 2009, the FDA announced that the makers of the gastrointestinal drugs were being required to place a “black box” warning about the Reglan Tardive Dyskinesia risk, which is the strongest warning that can be placed on a medication.

i had been taking reglan for over five years and just currently weaned myself off of it for the last 3 months. i initially started with 1 dose of 10 mg once a day andd then was raised to 4 tablets a day. i developed tardive dyskenisia and have destroyed my teeth requiring extensive dental surgeries. co-workers and family had noticed my involuntary mouth movements and one grandchild asked me why i always stuck my tongue out like a lizard. i was initially prescribed the drug by a military clinic and the dosage was increased by the same clinic. my records are available at that medical site. i am not taking reglan now but still suffer from the side effects and have kept the unused bottles of reglan in the cabinet, 4 bottles of 360 pills each
