GM Recall Lawyers Investigating Serious Injury and Wrongful Death Lawsuits Following Accidents Where Airbags Failed

So far this year, General Motors (GM) has recalled more than 2.5 million vehicles after disclosing that certain Chevrolet, Pontiac and Saturn vehicles may have faulty ignition switches.
Evidence suggests that GM may have known about these ignition switch problems for years, yet failed to take adequate steps to warn consumers or address the defect.
GM Recall Notices Over Ignition Problems
Certain GM vehicles may contain ignition switches that are prone to suddenly shut the car off if heavy key chains are used, or if the ignition is jarred, such as may occur in an accident or if something strikes the ignition.
These ignition problems may cause the airbags to fail in an accident, increasing the risk of serious injury or death. GM has indicated that 13 deaths may be linked to the faulty ignition switches. However, a report by the Center for Auto Safety (PDF) suggests that there have been more than 300 deaths reported among occupants of the recalled GM vehicles where airbags failed to deploy.
Although GM officials previously told the National Highway Safety Administration (NHTSA) that there was no pattern of problems or issue with the vehicles, they have since admitted that they were aware of the potential risk as early as 2001.
It appears that General Motors placed their desire for profits before consumer safety, with internal memos suggesting that the auto maker thought fixing the problem would be too expensive, despite concerns by parts suppliers and its own engineers.

I own a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt and it is the only car that I have to drive back and forth work. I can easily remove the key when the car is running. I contacted my nearest dealer and was told to call back in 2 to 3 weeks, as they had ordered a number of parts to fix the ignition, but didn’t know when the part would arrive. Why are we not given “loaner” cars to drive. Why do I have to drive a potentially dangerous vehicle that could injury and possibly kill my wife and I. GM needs to ship out the parts to fix the cars immediately or at least give us another vehicle to drive that is safe while we are waiting for our cars to be fixed!!!!

I also own a colbalt but its a 2010 This vehicle was involved in a accident caused by a power failure. The engine quite with a loss of power to my steering and braking systems.The chevy dealer says the parts are on back order and should be available in one to two months. The car starts but im afraid to drive it. The car sits in my driveway and i take my bike to work rain or shine. You would think GM would supply their customers with a rental BUT NO!! well F-U !! GM last car i buy.

I had a 2007 G5. A few years ago I got sandwiched between 2 vehicles totaling the car. The driver that hit me from the rear was doing speeds upwards of 45mph while I was stopped at a light, it caused my car to smash into the back of the vehicle in front of me. No airbags deployed. I could swear the car remained running but I don’t really remember.

Ok so I had bought a 2009 Chevy mailabu and had have it for 15 hours and I was driving home and I came tune and
And my car was smoking and complelty totalled and there was two other vehicles involved . Well I had received this letter like saying my exact car has a recall on it and my specific car. And I had libity on my old car Tuesday and I had added my malibu and said just drop my old car well they investagated it and still said no you don’t have insurance and I had wrecked my mailabu just that next day.

I recently gotten my car fixed from the recall. And now my shifter is not working , I have to place my hand under the steering wheel in order to turn the car off also it can shift an any gear while I’m driving it. I told the dealership and they informed me its not covered under warranty and sent me on my merry way!!

i have a 2008 jeep cherokee, the ignition switch if not in the correct position shuts off the power to the truck, wipers, windows, air bags, radio etc.. anything electronic. I was in a accident in January and it was pretty bad, I hit a cop car that pulled in front of me doing 45 mph. All his air bags deployed and none of mine did. It was almost a head on inpact. They should have deployed in mine. I got a recall now on this ignition stuff but they dont have the parts to fix it yet. Nice, so i have a risky vehicle that can kill me??

I owned a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu/which is on recall—–this is my story—-I approached the railroad tracks and attempted to cross over ——–the train was at a great distance—when my back tires hit the jarring—-the space between the railroad tracks and the pavement—it shut sown–well f–u GM–and shame on you for not notifying me about your f—ing recall I was on my deathbed!!!! but guess what I survived to share my story with the world —-you GM almost killed me for not notifying me. THANK YOU FOR THAT!!!!!!!!!!

dealer advertised key fob ,at signing told no fob but i saw it on console in test drive. other factors -a long story -but became suspicious reading details of ignition recalls for 2006 chevy hhr. i think they took the fob off and turned the passenger air bag off to avoid recall problems/danger ,then reported a recall repair in c ase of recall related parts as possible cause. how do i check/. blatant risk of injury. if they did.thanks

I got rearended i was driving my hhr..all my kids were with me..no airbags went off..if they did then i might not be all messed up..i am to this day living with severe neck issues and back injuries…i am only 43 and can barely at times move around without some type of bewildering pain..
