Three atypical antipsychotic medications prescribed for treatment of schitzophrenia have been linked to serious and potentially life threatening side effects:
Use of these medications has been linked to an increased risk of serious side effects, which the drug makers failed to adequately warn about when these medications were introduced, such as:
- Diabetes
- Hyperglycemia
- Pancreatitis
- Ketoacidosis (diabetic coma)
- Tardive Dyskinesia (involuntary movements of the face)
