Knee Replacement Complications May Be Caused By Recalled or Defective Implants
The product liability lawyers at Saiontz & Kirk, P.A. are reviewing knee replacement lawsuits for individuals who have experienced complications associated with several different artificial joint systems used in recent years.
Since most surgeons never tell patients what specific type of implant was used during a total knee replacement, our lawyers can help determine if a recalled or defective design may have been used. There is no need to find out what type of knee replacement you received before request a free case evaluation.

Medical device manufacturers must ensure that the products they market and sell are safe and effective for their intended purpose. In addition, adequate information and warnings about potential risks must be provided for consumers and surgeons.
Over the past five years, a number of new knee replacement system have been introduced by different manufacturers, each claiming that they feature “innovative” designs that improve on knee implants already on the market. However, as surgeons have switched to these new systems, a growing number of knee replacement complications are beginning to surface.
Unfortunately, for individuals who received these devices, these reports of problems may only be the tip of the ice berg, with additional failures likely to occur in the future, as the systems remain in place longer.
Due to unreasonably dangerous and defective designs used with several different knee replacement implants widely used since about 2013, financial compensation may be available for certain individuals who have experienced:
- Continuing Knee Pain After Surgery
- Knee Swelling, Stiffness or Intability
- Limited Range of Motion
- Popping or Sounds from the Knee Implant
- Dislocation or Loosening of Components
- Revision Surgery to Remove or Replace the Knee Implant
By request a free case evaluation, the lawyers at Saiontz & Kirk, P.A. can help determine whether you or a loved one may be experiencing problems with your knee replacement that could have been prevented.
There are never any out-of-pocket costs associated with hiring our attorneys, and we receive no fees or expenses unless a recovery or knee replacement settlement is obtained. Request a free consultation. or Call 1-800-522-0102.

I was told I needed partial knee replacement, only to find out the other side was worse than he knew. I had other side replaced and have had pain and swelling ever since.
I begged him to drain the fluid. He was not wanting to do it. I begged him and finally did and it was all blood. In surgery they found a torn meniscus. He stated, he didn’t know meniscus bleed.
Now it’s swelling, numb and very painful once again. Pain never went away.

I had a total knee replacement on Feb. 10, 2016. I have since had severe swelling, constant pain, and very poor range of motion. I was told by the doctor that preformed the surgery that it is as good as it will get, I am just one of those people that it did not work. I have been seen by a second doctor that I have extreme nerve damage, and they feel a second surgery would do me no good. I have to use a brace and cane constantly now and the pain is sometime unbearable..

My first Zimmer knee replacement was done on my left 11/26/2014 : problems right away: severe swelling, pain, terrible range of motion and it continues to this day..hard to get up and down and in vehicles. Have been in and out of therapy since. Now doing Hydro therapy….and I actually had my right knee replaced with the Zimmer on 02/11/2015…not as much complaints. Then I needed a hip replacement. My right one was done in September, 2016….
Now the left one is bad…..so confused about doing it now, but at least I have some answers why I suffer so much and still walking with a cane/walker. Good luck to all..

I had a total knee replacement about 3 years ago..About 6 weeks later I had to go back into surgery to clean out an infection that has set in..About 2 months after Knee Replacement, I had to go back to surgery for a knee manipulation..To this day, some 3 years now I have constant pain, swollen leg from just above knee down to calf..I cannot walk normally since the surgery, I have a constant limp..My primary care doctor prescribes me lidocaine patches, I wear them 12 hours then nothing for 12 hours then put the patches back on for 12 hours..They do not help with the pain and swelling..The surgeon that did my Knee Replacement basically told me that there is nothing he can do..I have since been diagnosed with Chronic Urticaria(Hives) and Angioedema..I have to have 2 shots every 3 weeks..My allergists tested me for everything I could be allergic to, and the tests were all negative..He then told me that it could be related to the Knee Implants..He believes I may be allergic to the metal replacement..I have not pursued this yet as the very thought of going thru another surgery and being laid up for another 6 weeks is not something I want to do..So I break out with Chronic Hives every 3 weeks..I am so tired of living like this and I wish I had never gotten the Replacement done..I don’t know what the future holds for me at this point, I’ve almost given up..

James says:
I had knee surgery done on my right knee on October 6, 2017. After six months of surgery, on March 16, 2018, I slipped and fell twice in my bedroom. I was taken to Harbor Hospital originally, but I was told by the knee doctor that he could not do anything for me. I contacted my surgeon at Mercy and was transferred there. An MRI was done and it was determine that a torn muscle was the result of the fall. However, surgery was immediately done on March 20,2018 and it was discovered that my knee was infected by bacteria. Later on, the infectious doctor at Mercy told me that I had gotten a virus my leg, and I had to stay on medication to stop the infection for six weeks 7 days a week. In the meantime, a cast was put on my leg to get the right knee straight. The elastic cast stayed on my leg for a month and 1 week. I went to the surgeon and He removed the cast. I had in-home therapy foe several weeks, finished that,, now taking out patient therapy, my knee is still crooked and causing very much limited
mobility. I just went to the doctor to review my knee on June 20, 2018, he stated that to get this right another surgery might be needed, and he advised me to schedule one with surgical coordinator. Other then that, he did provide other information. Right now, I am not interested in a third operation by surgeon
on my right knee. I will be seeking a second opinion on my right knee. I am requesting a case review on this and I would like for your legal office to contact me. I made a legal call to your office on June 7, I believe and gave to the taking all the information. I just recently retrieved my x-rays and written reports
done my knee originally and MRI done on March 18, 2018 with the written report. Please help if you can.
I can be reached at 410-354-3129.

Had left knee replacement in2013 surgeon would never tell me make model all he would say is it looks like a ice cream sandwich an he had done thousands of them with no problem. I.ve had to do my own research . He didn’t tell me he used Zimmer Biomet Vanguard.!! It was recalled by FDA in January -4-2017 have swelling above an below my knee my calf shooting pain in my left leg nothing but trouble pain agonies filed complaint with FDA. Have not been back any doctor since staples were taken out do to not wanting to have any one touch my leg pull on it trying to bend it been thru hell with this . My research shows revision surgery would be worse than the first surgery nope I will not do it. FDA said it is the Hospital an your Surgeon to tell you of any recall of your device. I never was by either one!! Please be careful do your research I did mine to late.
