OSTEONECROSIS OF THE SHOULDER FROM FOSAMAX

Fosamax is an oral bisphosphonate medication prescribed to treat osteoporosis. The drug inhibits bone turnover, which is designed to reduce the risk of fractures. However, long-term use could lead to a gradual decay of bone in the jaw, knee, hip or shoulder as a side effect of Fosamax.
