ANSWER

The lawyers at Saiontz & Kirk, P.A. represent individuals throughout the United States who are pursuing lawsuits over a cancer diagnosis that may be linked to side effects of recalled valsartan pills distributed in recent years with a cancer-causing impurity.

Due to manufacturing problems, a number of different generic drug companies sold pills with contaminated ingredients, which contained N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA), which is a known human carcinogen that may lead to the development of:

  • Liver Cancer
  • Kidney Cancer
  • Pancreatic Cancer
  • Colorectal Cancer
  • Bladder Cancer
  • Severe Liver Injury

Free consultations are being provided to help evaluate whether financial compensation may be available through a valsartan settlement. All cases are handled under a contingency fee, which means that there are no fees or expenses unless you win a recovery.

While the litigation remains in the very earliest stages, a large number of claims are likely to be filed by individuals nationwide in the coming months and years.

Given similar questions of fact and law, the process is often confused with a valsartan class action. However, each lawsuit brought on behalf of individuals diagnosed with cancer will remain a separate action, and any eventual settlement negotiations will be based on the circumstances in each case, including:

  • The extent and duration of the valsartan injury suffered;
  • The effect that the valsartan cancer injury had on the overall physical and mental health or well-being of the plaintiff;
  • The pain, suffering and mental anguish caused by the valsartan cancer injury in the past and which will likely be suffered in the future;
  • The amount of any past or future medical expenses caused by the side effects of valsartan;
  • Any lost wages or loss of earning capacity.

It will likely take several years before the manufacturers and distributors of recalled valsartan settle claims. As additional information is discovered about the manufacturing problems that led to the presence of NDMA in valsartan pills, including when the issues could have been detected, it will also impact the value of cases.

As a result of the apparent decision to place profits before consumer safety, thousands of individuals throughout the United States may have been exposed to an increased risk of cancer.
